Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Tailor with a minimum of 5 years of experience in garment manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for stitching, altering, and finishing garments according to production specifications while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Key ResponsibilitiesStitching & Sewing
- Stitch garments according to approved patterns and production specifications.
- Operate industrial sewing machines such as single-needle, overlock, flatlock, feed-off-the-arm, and button machines.
- Ensure accurate stitching, seam quality, and garment finishing.
- Complete assigned production targets within the required time.
Garment Assembly
- Assemble garment components including collars, cuffs, sleeves, pockets, waistbands, and hems.
- Perform operations based on the assigned production line process.
- Handle different fabric types such as cotton, polyester, denim, linen, and knitted fabrics.
Alteration & Repairs
- Perform garment alterations and repairs when required.
- Correct stitching defects and replace damaged garment parts.
- Ensure all alterations meet customer or production specifications.
Quality Control
- Inspect garments for stitching defects, measurements, loose threads, and finishing quality.
- Ensure garments meet company quality standards before forwarding to the next process.
- Minimize rejection and rework by maintaining high workmanship standards.
Machine Maintenance
- Perform daily cleaning and basic maintenance of sewing machines.
- Identify machine issues and report them to the maintenance team.
- Ensure sewing machines are properly adjusted before starting production.
Productivity
- Achieve daily production targets without compromising quality.
- Reduce material wastage and improve sewing efficiency.
- Support line balancing and continuous process improvement.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow all workplace safety rules and wear the required PPE.
- Maintain cleanliness and 5S standards in the work area.
- Handle fabrics, needles, and cutting tools safely.
Documentation
- Record daily production output, defects, and rework details as required.
- Report production or quality issues to the supervisor.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of tailoring or garment stitching experience.
- Strong knowledge of industrial sewing machines.
- Ability to read measurement charts, patterns, and work instructions.
- Good understanding of garment construction and finishing techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality.
Qualifications
- ITI in Sewing Technology / Tailoring Certificate / Diploma in Garment Technology or relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in garment manufacturing or tailoring.
Preferred Qualities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts and overtime when required.
- Positive attitude, discipline, and commitment to meeting production targets.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹13,000.00 per month
