Summary
A Software Quality Assurance Associate is a professional responsible for identifying, analyzing, and validating defects during different phases of the software development and testing lifecycle. The role involves executing testing activities for applications, databases, forms, reports, and configuration components with low to mid complexity. The position requires strong understanding of software testing concepts, SDLC/STLC processes, logical problem-solving ability, database querying, and test execution practices. Testing Analysts I work in a support role on projects/issues of low to mid complexity while ensuring quality and compliance standards are met.
Responsibilities:-
Execute assigned tasks related to test planning, test execution, defect reporting,
and validation.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and sanity testing for applications and
configuration components.
Prepare and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts based on
business requirements.
Identify, document, track, and retest defects using defect management tools.
Validate data using basic SQL queries and database testing techniques.
Perform low complexity testing for forms, letters, reports, and static data updates.
Demonstrate task-level ownership for assigned testing activities.
Communicate timely updates to Leads and Onshore counterparts.
Follow standard operating procedures and leverage knowledge gained during
trainings and available documentation.
Support quality assurance activities and ensure adherence to defined processes
and standards.
Succeeding as a TDIS Software Quality Assurance Associate will require the
following core qualifications and skills
0–1 years of relevant experience in software testing or a similar role.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related
field.
Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC concepts.
Knowledge of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycle, and testing
concepts.
Basic knowledge of databases and ability to write SQL queries for data validation
and extraction.
Good logical reasoning and analytical/problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access.
Familiarity with test case creation and execution processes.
Understanding of quality assurance standards and best practices.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools, technologies, and business
processes.
