Role Overview
Manage biological sample collection, processing, storage, and inventory tracking for biobank research and clinical standards to ensure sample integrity and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Specimen Processing & Handling: Collect, process, and aliquot biological specimens (including tissue, blood, and body fluids) in strict accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Storage & Inventory Management: Store and archive biological samples using cryogenic freezer systems, liquid nitrogen storage, and biobank tracking databases to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Quality Assurance & Ethics: Maintain rigorous quality control standards, ensuring full compliance with institutional research ethics, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
- Clean-Room & Biohazard Safety: Strictly adhere to clean-room standards, biosafety level protocols, and biohazard waste handling procedures to ensure safety and prevent cross-contamination.
- Equipment & Log Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on biobank cryogenic systems, biosafety cabinets, and laboratory equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: B.Sc or M.Sc in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), or an equivalent discipline.
- Experience: 1–5 years of hands-on experience working in biological sample repositories, biorepositories, or clinical laboratory environments.
- Key Skills:
- Strong expertise in biosafety handling, cryogenic storage systems, and specimen processing techniques.
- Proficiency with biobank management software and inventory databases.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
