Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Blueprint Interpretation: Analyzing blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan, layout, and align metal parts.
- Welding Operations: Joining metal components using various processes, including [MIG (GMAW)], [TIG (GTAW)], and Stick (SMAW).
- Material Preparation: Cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces using torches or plasma cutters before welding.
- Inspection & Quality Control: Assessing completed welds for defects, strength, and precision using measurement tools.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operating and maintaining welding machinery, tools, and safety gear to ensure proper function.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to strict safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), including wearing protective gear to manage heat, fumes, and radiation.
- Positional Welding: Performing welding in various positions, including flat, vertical, and overhead.
- Collaboration: Working with fitters, fabricators, and supervisors to meet project specifications and deadlines. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]
Common Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification from an accredited welding school is often preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of metal properties and welding techniques.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in tight spaces
Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
