Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Service Engineer to join our Smart Watch Service Centre. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and quality-checking smart watches, managing job sheets accurately, and ensuring timely dispatch of repaired devices to customers. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, good communication skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent after-sales service.
Key Responsibilities:
Repair & Technical Work
- Diagnose hardware and software faults in smart watches received at the service centre.
- Perform accurate and efficient repairs including screen replacement, battery replacement, strap servicing, and sensor calibration.
- Carry out firmware updates and software troubleshooting as required.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship to ensure repaired devices meet quality benchmarks before dispatch.
Job Sheet Management:
- Create and maintain job sheets for every device received at the service centre.
- Record all repair details, parts used, labour notes, and customer information accurately in the job sheet system.
- Update job sheet status at each stage — received, in-progress, repaired, quality checked, and ready for dispatch.
- Close job sheets promptly after successful repair completion and QC sign-off.
- Coordinate with the service centre supervisor to escalate complex cases or pending approvals.
Dispatch & Customer Coordination
- Inspect and pack repaired smart watches securely before dispatch.
- Coordinate with the logistics/courier team to ensure timely dispatch of repaired units.
- Maintain dispatch records and ensure all customer details match correctly before shipping.
- Provide repair status updates to customers or the customer service team when required.
- Handle any post-repair complaints or re-work requests professionally.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Diploma or ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or a related technical field.
- Freshers are welcome to apply — no prior experience required.
Technical Skills
- Hands-on ability to repair electronic devices, wearables, or mobile accessories (training will be provided).
- Knowledge of PCB-level troubleshooting and soldering (fine-pitch components).
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software used in wearable device servicing.
- Ability to read and understand service manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.
Soft Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
- Good time management skills to meet repair TAT (turnaround time) targets.
- Basic computer literacy for job sheet software, email communication, and reporting.
- Team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Good communication skills in English and local language for customer coordination.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Repair Turnaround Time (TAT) — achieving daily/weekly repair targets within defined timelines.
- Job Sheet Accuracy — error-free documentation and timely closure of all job sheets.
- First-Time Fix Rate — percentage of devices repaired successfully without re-work.
- Dispatch Accuracy — zero errors in customer details and packaging before dispatch.
- Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT) — positive feedback from service centre customers.
