A university lab assistant supports faculty and students during practical sessions. Their daily tasks include setting up experiments, maintaining equipment, and tracking inventory. They enforce safety rules and help students learn proper techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Experiment Preparation: Set up instruments and materials exactly before a class begins.
- Safety & Cleaning: Sterilize glassware, clean workstations, and ensure hazardous materials are thrown away safely.
- Inventory Management: Check supplies of Items and equipment. Order new items when they run low.
- Student Guidance: Help students during lab sessions and ensure they follow safety rules.
Job Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in the relevant field (like Physics & Computer Science).
- Technical Skills: The ability to calibrate, or adjust, scientific instruments so they work correctly.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to track data without making mistakes
