Job Requirements*
- 8–16 years of total experience with at least 4+ years as a Data Architect.
- Deep hands-on expertise with AWS services: S3, Glue, Redshift, Lake Formation, Lambda, Athena, Step Functions.
- Strong understanding of Data Lake & Lakehouse architectures including Iceberg/Hudi/Delta.
- Expertise in designing scalable ETL/ELT frameworks, data ingestion pipelines, and transformation layers.
- Strong fundamentals in data modeling: 3NF, Dimensional, CDC, Slowly Changing Dimensions.
- Hands-on experience with PySpark, Python, and advanced SQL development.
- Good understanding of cross-account architecture, networking (VPC, subnets, endpoints), IAM, encryption, and data security.
- Knowledge of Kafka/Kinesis/MSK, OpenSearch, or DynamoDB is a plus.
- Experience designing highly available, cost-optimized, and secure AWS data platforms.
- Experience with CI/CD, Git, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
Key Responsibilities*
- Architect and design end to end data platforms using AWS services.
- Define data lake/lakehouse architecture, ingestion patterns, transformation layers, and consumption models.
- Own the design of modular ETL/ELT pipelines using Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, EMR/PySpark.
- Define standards for metad ata management, data quality, governance, cataloging, and lineage.
- Work closely with business, product owners, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical architecture.
- Review code, provide technical leadership, and ensure alignment with AWS best practices.
- Conduct architecture review sessions, document HLD/LLD, sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams.
- Lead modernization of legacy pipelines, optimizing PySpark jobs, and implementing scalable frameworks.
- Collaborate with ingestion, cloud ops, AMS, and security teams to ensure smooth platform operations.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation in Confluence, mapping documents, and S3/Box structure references.
