Job Description: Senior Linux Administrator
Location: Delhi, India
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Administrator to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux server environments. The candidate will be responsible for server administration, performance monitoring, security, backup, patching, and resolving critical infrastructure issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, manage, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Perform server monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity management.
- Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, sudo access, and file systems.
- Troubleshoot Linux OS, system services, boot, and performance-related issues.
- Manage LVM, RAID, NFS, and storage-related configurations.
- Configure and troubleshoot services such as Apache, Nginx, SSH, DNS, and FTP.
- Perform OS patching, upgrades, and security updates.
- Monitor system logs and troubleshoot critical incidents.
- Manage server backup and restoration processes.
- Implement and maintain Linux server security and hardening standards.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using Shell/Bash scripting.
- Support virtualization and cloud environments as required.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and recurring issues.
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and server inventory.
- Coordinate with network, database, security, and application teams for issue resolution.
- Provide L2/L3 support and participate in on-call or shift support as required.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Linux server administration.
- Hands-on experience with RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, HTTP/HTTPS, and networking concepts.
- Experience with LVM, RAID, NFS, file systems, and storage.
- Knowledge of Apache/Nginx and common Linux services.
- Good knowledge of Shell/Bash scripting.
- Experience with server monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Knowledge of Linux security hardening and patch management.
- Basic knowledge of virtualization and cloud platforms is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- RHCSA / RHCE certification is an advantage.
Experience
5+ years of experience in Linux Server Administration or a similar role.
