Role Overview
The DTP & Data Entry Operator plays an important role in supporting the academic and operational functions of the institution by creating, formatting, and producing various printed and digital educational materials. The role involves designing textbooks, workbooks, brochures, posters, and other academic resources while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and high-quality output. The operator also manages printing tasks and maintains proper formatting standards across all materials.
Key Responsibilities :
Designing and Formatting
- Use desktop publishing software to design and format educational materials such as textbooks, worksheets, brochures, and posters.
- Work closely with teachers, academic teams, and administrators to understand design requirements.
- Convert raw content into visually appealing and structured formats suitable for print and digital distribution.
Layout and Typesetting
- Arrange text, images, charts, and graphics in a clear and visually organized layout.
- Ensure proper alignment, font selection, font size, spacing, and consistent formatting.
- Maintain standardized templates and formatting guidelines across all academic materials.
Printing and Production
- Manage the printing and production process after design approval.
- Operate printing equipment such as printers, plotters, and copiers.
- Ensure proper printer settings and configurations for high-quality output.
- Monitor and maintain stock of printing materials such as paper, ink, and toner.
Quality Control
- Conduct quality checks on printed and formatted materials.
- Verify colour accuracy, layout consistency, and print clarity.
- Ensure the final output meets the required institutional standards.
Editing and Proofreading
- Proofread documents to identify and correct spelling, formatting, or layout errors.
- Ensure accuracy and clarity of the educational content before final printing.
- Coordinate with content creators and academic teams to finalize materials.
Qualifications
- Graduation in any discipline.
Experience Requirements
- Freshers or candidates with relevant experience in DTP, printing, or documentation support can apply.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in desktop publishing software such as Adobe Latex ,InDesign, CorelDRAW, MS Word, or similar tools.
- Basic knowledge of printing technologies and equipment.
- Good typing and formatting skills.
Communication & Collaboration
- Strong communication skills to understand requirements from teachers and administrative teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively with academic and content development teams.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in formatting and documentation.
