Quality Lead / Quality In-charge
Location: Talawade, Pune
Shift: General / Day Shift (with night shift oversight accountability)
Experience Required: 6-10 years in Quality function in a precision machining environment
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical or Production Engineering
CTC Range: Rs. 35,000 - 45,000 per month (based on experience)
ROLE SUMMARY
The Quality Lead is the single point of accountability for all quality outcomes at SLH Engineering. This role owns incoming inspection, in-process quality, final inspection, customer quality, and the development of both junior quality engineers across shifts. The Quality Lead is expected to drive a culture of right-first-time manufacturing and reduce customer rejections to near-zero levels.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Instruments: Triomos, Vernier calliper, micrometre, height gauge, bore gauge, thread gauges, surface roughness tester, (CMM – Will be added advantage).
Drawing Reading: strong ability to read 2D engineering drawings with GD&T (IS / ISO standards).
Quality Systems: Working knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949, 8D, 5-Why, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans.
Tools: Basic MS Excel for rejection MIS and data tracking; ERP / job card systems experience is a plus.
Leadership: Capable of managing 2 junior engineers across shifts, assertive in enforcing quality holds.
Communication: Can write professional 8D reports, customer emails, and present data in review meetings
