Position: Process R&D Chemist

Job Summary
The Process R&D Chemist will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and scaling up chemical processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial production levels. The role involves process improvement, troubleshooting, technology transfer, and ensuring safe, cost-effective, and efficient manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize chemical synthesis and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct laboratory experiments to improve product yield, quality, and process efficiency.
- Perform process scale-up from laboratory to pilot plant and commercial production.
- Prepare and maintain detailed experimental records, reports, and technical documentation.
- Investigate process-related issues and provide technical solutions.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams for successful technology transfer.
- Evaluate raw materials, intermediates, and finished products from a process development perspective.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct literature searches, patent reviews, and competitive technology assessments.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and enhance productivity.
- Support validation, qualification, and process optimization activities.
Required Qualifications
- M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry (preferred).
- M.Tech / Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, or related disciplines will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of organic synthesis, reaction mechanisms, and process chemistry.
Preferred Experience
- 0–3 years for Junior Process R&D Chemist.
- Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, catalyst, specialty chemical, or related industries is preferred.
- Knowledge of process scale-up, DOE (Design of Experiments), and statistical analysis tools is desirable.
Required Skills
- Organic synthesis and process development.
- Analytical interpretation of GC, HPLC, UV-Vis, FTIR, ICP, and other analytical data.
- Technical report writing and documentation.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and chemical handling practices.
Suitable Educational Background
- Primary Preference: M.Sc. Organic Chemistry.
