Position: Commis I – Asian Cuisine

Job Summary
The Commis I – Asian Cuisine is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Asian dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen operations. The role requires knowledge of Asian cooking techniques, ingredients, wok cooking, and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare mise en place for daily kitchen operations, including chopping, cutting, marinating, sauce preparation, and stock preparation.
- Assist in preparing and cooking Asian cuisine dishes as per standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Perform wok cooking, stir-frying, grilling, steaming, soup preparation, and other Asian cooking techniques.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, portion control, and presentation of all dishes.
- Follow instructions from the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and Executive Chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned workstation.
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times.
- Monitor proper storage, labeling, and stock rotation (FIFO) of ingredients.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies and deliveries.
- Minimize food wastage and support cost-control measures.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used and maintained properly.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods and special events.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of Asian cuisine, ingredients, sauces, and cooking methods.
- Proficiency in wok cooking and hot kitchen operations.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and sanitation standards.

Qualifications
- Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience as Commis I or similar role in an Asian/Pan-Asian restaurant, hotel, or fine-dining establishment.
- Knowledge of Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Korean, or Pan-Asian cuisine will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹26,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
