Join BMWTechWorks India in the Digital Product Engineering cluster, Unit CAD, focusing on CAS modelling of exterior details with an emphasis on wheels.

What should you bring along

A strong passion for automotive surfaces, with a keen sense of form and aesthetic judgment.

Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with design and styling partners in Munich.

Very good English language skills (German language is an advantage).

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in automotive CAS modelling, specifically in wheels and exterior components.

Proactive, teamwork-oriented mindset with the ability to operate in a matrix environment.
Must have technical skill

Expert proficiency in Autodesk Alias (Surface NURBS and SubD) for high-quality surface modelling.

Strong understanding of surfaces, form, and aesthetics in CAS environments.
-
Working knowledge of CATIA is beneficial.

Familiarity with visualization tools (e.g., VRED) for presenting surface concepts.

Basic familiarity with Poly Tools (Maya, Blender) is advantageous.
-
Experience with parametric design concepts and AI-assisted design tools is a plus.

Solid technical understanding of design intent, tolerances, and production feasibility.
Good to have Technical skills

Experience working with BMW design studios or automotive styling teams, preferably in international collaborations.

Knowledge of digitization workflows, data exchange formats, and version control in a design/engineering context.

Exposure to design for manufacturing (DfM) and design for assembly (DfA) considerations.

Ability to contribute to rapid ideation and iteration cycles while maintaining high-quality surface outputs.
