Educational Qualification
- ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Additional certification in Quality Inspection or NDT will be preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 1–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in Heavy Fabrication, Pressure Vessel or Process Equipment Manufacturing.
- Experience in Nuclear, Power, Oil & Gas or Heavy Engineering industries will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Incoming Material Inspection
- Perform inspection of raw materials and bought-out items as per approved specifications.
- Verify Material Test Certificates (MTCs) and traceability records.
In-Process Inspection
- Conduct stage-wise inspection during fabrication activities.
- Verify fit-up, welding, dimensional accuracy and assembly as per approved drawings and Quality Plans.
- Ensure compliance with approved WPS/PQR and project specifications.
Final Inspection
- Carry out final dimensional, visual and functional inspections before dispatch.
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and applicable codes & standards.
NDT Coordination
- Coordinate with NDT agencies for UT, RT, PT, MT and other inspection activities.
- Review NDT reports and ensure timely closure of observations.
Documentation
- Prepare and maintain Quality Inspection Reports (QIR), Inspection Checklists and Manufacturing Record Books (MRB).
- Maintain inspection records, calibration records and quality documentation.
Customer & Third-Party Inspection
- Coordinate with customer representatives and Third-Party Inspection Agencies (TPIA).
- Support customer inspections, audits and quality documentation.
Non-Conformance Management
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and monitor their implementation.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in internal quality audits and process improvement initiatives.
- Promote quality awareness and adherence to company procedures.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, ASME Section IX, ASTM and applicable fabrication standards.
- Knowledge of Pressure Vessel, Heat Exchanger and Heavy Fabrication inspection.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, GA drawings, fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
- Good understanding of dimensional inspection tools and measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of NDT methods and interpretation of inspection reports.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
