Job Title: Hospital Counsellor

Job Summary
The Hospital Counsellor is responsible for providing emotional, psychological, and informational support to patients and their families, especially mothers, pregnant women, and caregivers. The counsellor will guide patients regarding treatment plans, hospital services, financial counselling, and ensure a positive patient experience throughout their hospital journey.
Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Counselling
- Provide counselling to pregnant women, new mothers, and families regarding treatment, procedures, and hospital policies.
- Support patients emotionally during pregnancy, delivery, and postnatal care.
- Address patient concerns, fears, and queries related to treatment.
2. Treatment & Service Guidance
- Explain treatment plans, packages, and hospital services clearly to patients and relatives.
- Assist doctors and medical staff in explaining procedures and care instructions.
3. Patient Relationship Management
- Maintain good communication with patients and their families.
- Ensure patient satisfaction and handle patient grievances or complaints.
4. Admission & Billing Support
- Guide patients regarding admission procedures, packages, and billing processes.
- Coordinate with billing and insurance departments when required.
5. Coordination with Medical Team
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and hospital administration for smooth patient care.
- Communicate patient feedback to management.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain counselling records and patient interaction reports.
- Update patient information in hospital systems as required.
7. Awareness & Education
- Educate patients on prenatal care, postnatal care, newborn care, breastfeeding, and vaccination schedules.
- Conduct patient awareness sessions when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, or related field.
- Additional certification in counselling or healthcare management is preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in hospital counselling, healthcare, or patient care services.
- Experience in maternity or pediatric hospitals will be an advantage.

Working Conditions
