Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Officer to manage the procurement of raw materials, fabrics, trims, accessories, packaging materials, and other operational requirements for our garments manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate should possess strong negotiation skills, vendor management experience, and knowledge of garment procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure fabrics, trims, accessories, packaging materials, and general consumables.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate the best commercial terms.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely approval.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Production, Stores, and Accounts departments.
- Monitor inventory levels and plan procurement to avoid stock shortages or overstocking.
- Verify supplier invoices, delivery challans, and purchase documentation.
- Maintain vendor records, purchase reports, and procurement MIS.
- Ensure purchased materials meet quality specifications and company standards.
- Resolve supplier-related issues such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns.
- Track market trends and material prices to optimize procurement costs.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Textile Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Diploma or certification in Procurement/Supply Chain is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the garments, textile, or apparel industry.
- Experience in sourcing fabrics, trims, and garment accessories is preferred.
