Job Summary
The Insurance cum Billing Executive is responsible for handling patient billing, insurance claim processing, pre-authorizations, cashless approvals, claim documentation, and coordination with insurance companies and TPAs. The role ensures accurate billing, timely claim submission, and excellent patient service while complying with hospital policies and insurance guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate inpatient and outpatient bills.
- Verify patient registration details and insurance eligibility.
- Process cashless approvals and coordinate with insurance companies and TPAs.
- Submit pre-authorization requests and follow up for approvals.
- Prepare, verify, and submit insurance claim documents within the required timelines.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, medical records, and other departments to obtain necessary documents.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and insurance-related queries.
- Follow up on pending claims, rejections, and settlements.
- Maintain records of insurance claims, approvals, and billing transactions.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, insurance regulations, and TPA guidelines.
- Provide billing explanations and payment details to patients and attendants.
- Generate billing and insurance reports as required by management.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and financial records.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, or any related discipline.
- Certification in Medical Billing, Health Insurance, or Hospital Administration is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in hospital billing and insurance/TPA handling.
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals is preferred.
- Knowledge of cashless insurance processes and reimbursement claims.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of hospital billing systems (HIMS/Hospital ERP).
- Understanding of insurance policies and TPA procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Team player with excellent coordination skills.
Working Hours
- 9am-6Pm
- Weekly Off as per hospital policy
Salary
- As per industry standards and experience.
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
