Job Summary
The School Counsellor will support students' emotional, behavioural, academic, and career development by providing counselling services and working closely with students, parents, teachers, and school leadership to promote a safe and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counselling to students.
- Support students with emotional, behavioural, academic, and social concerns.
- Guide students in career planning and subject selection.
- Conduct workshops on life skills, mental health, stress management, and cyber safety.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents for student well-being.
- Maintain confidential counselling records and reports.
- Ensure compliance with CBSE child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
- Perform other duties assigned by the school administration.
Job Specification (JS) – School CounsellorQualification
- Master's Degree in Psychology/Counselling Psychology/Applied Psychology.
- Diploma/Certification in Guidance & Counselling (Preferred).
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in a school counselling role (CBSE school preferred).
Skills
- Student counselling and career guidance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of child psychology, mental health, and CBSE guidelines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and report writing.
