Spa Trainer Job Description
A Spa Trainer is responsible for developing, mentoring, and assessing spa therapists to ensure high-quality service delivery, technical expertise, and adherence to hygiene and sanitation protocols. The role involves conducting training programs on spa therapies, product knowledge, and customer service standards to maintain operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Mentorship
- Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and practical demonstrations for new and existing spa therapists.
- Train staff on various spa therapies, including Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Therapy, Aromatherapy, and wellness treatments.
- Mentor therapists to enhance their technical and customer-handling skills.
Quality Assurance
- Monitor and evaluate therapist performance to ensure consistency in service standards.
- Conduct regular assessments and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Ensure all services are delivered as per company SOPs and brand standards.
Product Knowledge
- Train therapists on spa products, ingredients, usage techniques, and retail recommendations.
- Educate staff on upselling and cross-selling spa products and services.
Safety & Sanitation
- Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, health, and sanitation standards across treatment areas.
- Conduct regular checks to maintain compliance with safety regulations and spa protocols.
Operational Support
- Collaborate with spa management to update treatment procedures and training modules.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving guest experience and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience
- Prior experience as a Spa Trainer, Lead Therapist, or a similar role in the wellness or hospitality industry.
- Typically, 1–6 years of relevant industry experience is preferred.
