Job Title: Siddha Doctor
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Siddha Doctor to provide high-quality traditional healthcare services to our patients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for patient consultations, diagnosing ailments based on traditional Siddha principles, prescribing appropriate Siddha formulations, and administering or overseeing traditional therapies (such as Varmam and Thokkanam).
You will work closely with our clinical and administrative teams to ensure excellent patient care, operational efficiency, and adherence to healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Clinical & Patient Care
- Conduct detailed patient consultations, taking comprehensive medical histories and performing physical examinations.
- Diagnose illnesses using traditional Siddha methods, including the Envagai Thervu (Eight-fold examination).
- Prescribe authentic Siddha medicines (Parpam, Chendooram, Chooranam, Thailam, etc.) and advise patients on proper dosage and administration.
- Perform or supervise traditional external therapies, including Varmam therapy, Thokkanam (massage).
- Provide dietary (Pathyam) and lifestyle counseling aligned with Siddha philosophy to promote holistic wellness.
2. Documentation & Operations
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential medical records for all patients.
- Monitor patient progress during follow-up visits and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Coordinate with the hospital pharmacy to ensure the availability of prescribed medicines.
- Collaborate with nursing assistants and therapists to ensure external treatments are carried out safely and effectively.
3. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Adhere to hospital protocols, ethical medical practices, and safety regulations.
- Assist the administrative team in maintaining documentation required for standard quality audits and hospital accreditations (such as NABH standards).
- Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS) from a recognized university. (MD-Siddha is an added advantage).
- Registration: Valid registration with the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) or the respective State Siddha Medical Council.
- Experience: 0 to 5+ years of clinical experience.
- Core Skills:
- Profound knowledge of Siddha pharmacology, diagnostic methodologies, and external therapies.
- Expertise in Naadi Parikshai (Pulse Diagnosis).
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with patients.
- Strong clinical decision-making, empathy, and patient-handling skills.
