Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and responsible Biomedical Engineer to manage, maintain, and ensure the safe and efficient functioning of biomedical and medical equipment across the hospital. The candidate will be responsible for preventive and breakdown maintenance, calibration, equipment documentation, vendor coordination, and supporting NABH compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, maintain, and troubleshoot biomedical equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective/breakdown maintenance of medical equipment.
- Ensure timely servicing and minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain updated Biomedical Equipment Asset Register and equipment history records.
- Maintain preventive maintenance, breakdown, calibration, warranty, AMC and CMC records.
- Coordinate with authorized vendors/service engineers for repairs, servicing and maintenance.
- Monitor AMC/CMC schedules and ensure timely renewal and service visits.
- Coordinate installation, commissioning, testing and acceptance of new medical equipment.
- Conduct regular rounds of hospital departments to check equipment functionality and safety.
- Support technical evaluation and procurement of new medical equipment.
- Ensure proper calibration and performance checks of critical equipment.
- Train doctors, nurses and other hospital staff on the safe and proper use of biomedical equipment.
- Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain records and documentation required for NABH and hospital quality audits.
- Ensure compliance with hospital safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with ICU, OT, Emergency, Radiology, Laboratory, Dialysis, Nursing and other departments for equipment-related issues.
- Maintain records of spare parts and equipment accessories.
- Respond promptly to critical equipment breakdowns and emergency service requirements.
- Prepare periodic reports on equipment status, maintenance, breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Perform any other biomedical engineering responsibilities assigned by management.
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of biomedical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of medical equipment calibration and preventive maintenance.
- Good understanding of electrical/electronic systems.
- Knowledge of AMC/CMC and vendor management.
- Good documentation and MS Office skills.
- Knowledge of NABH requirements will be an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergency breakdowns.

Candidate Profile
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Biomedical Engineering.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Hospital/healthcare experience will be an advantage.
- Freshers with strong technical knowledge may also be considered based on hospital requirements.
