About the Role
Embdes Engineering Solutions is looking for an Android Developer to build and enhance HMI and Connected Vehicle applications for automotive platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, Android Services, AIDL/IPC, performance optimization, and cloud-connected applications. Experience in automotive, IoT, or embedded Android environments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop Android HMI applications using Kotlin, Java, and Jetpack Compose.
· Build responsive and high-performance UI for vehicle cluster, infotainment, and connected vehicle applications.
· Develop and maintain Android Services, Broadcast Receivers, AIDL/Binder-based IPC, and background processes.
· Optimize application startup, memory usage, CPU utilization, rendering performance, and battery efficiency.
· Implement secure file upload/download, app-to-app communication, and backend integration.
· Integrate applications with REST APIs, MQTT, AWS IoT, or similar cloud platforms.
· Debug application issues including crashes, ANRs, memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, and network failures.
· Collaborate with embedded, backend, QA, UI/UX, and product teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Required Skills
· 4–6 years of Android application development using Kotlin and Java.
· Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, ViewModel, StateFlow/LiveData, and modern Android architecture.
· Strong knowledge of Android lifecycle, Services, Broadcast Receivers, permissions, and background execution.
· Experience with AIDL, Binder IPC, and inter-process communication.
· Expertise in Android performance optimization, profiling, and debugging.
· Experience implementing secure networking, file transfer, offline sync, and retry mechanisms.
· Good understanding of REST APIs, MQTT, or cloud-connected applications.
· Strong debugging skills using ADB, Logcat, Dumpsys, Perfetto, Android Studio Profilers, and Bug Reports.
· Proficiency with Git and Agile development practices.
Good to Have
· Automotive HMI, Cluster, Infotainment, or Connected Vehicle experience.
· Android Automotive OS (AAOS) or AOSP exposure.
· AWS IoT or other cloud IoT platforms.
· CAN or vehicle signal integration.
· OTA/FOTA, diagnostics, or log upload solutions.
· Experience with Bluetooth, Android Auto, USB, MediaCodec, or ExoPlayer.
