Job Description:
The Research Associate in Drug Discovery will support scientific investigations through laboratory experimentation, data analysis, literature review, scientific writing, publication support, and mentoring interns. The role may support projects in biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical research, drug discovery, and clinical research.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and advanced laboratory experiments according to approved protocols.
- Perform molecular biology, microbiology, biochemical, pharmaceutical, or biomedical assays.
- Prepare reagents, buffers, media, samples, and laboratory materials.
- Carry out techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR/qPCR, gel electrophoresis, ELISA, Western blotting, cell culture, protein assays, and sterile techniques when applicable.
- Collect, label, process, store, and document biological or research samples.
- Analyze experimental data and prepare technical summaries, reports, posters, and manuscripts.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks, raw data files, sample inventories, and project documentation.
- Assist with protocol optimization, literature review, and scientific discussions.
- Mentor interns and junior laboratory staff as assigned.
- M.Pharm, Pharm.D, M.Sc. Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or related discipline.
- Prior research experience, dissertation work, internship experience, or publication experience preferred.
- DNA/RNA isolation, PCR/qPCR, gel electrophoresis.
- Cell culture, ELISA, Western blotting, protein assays.
- Micro-pipetting and sterile laboratory techniques.
- Data analysis and scientific documentation.
- Problem-solving, teamwork, and attention to detail.
