Role Overview
As an Academic Counsellor, you will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and parents.
You will guide families throughout the admissions journey by understanding academic requirements, identifying learning challenges, recommending appropriate tutoring solutions and helping students access the support they need to succeed.

Key ResponsibilitiesStudent & Parent Consultation
- Engage with prospective students and parents through phone calls, WhatsApp, email and virtual meetings.
- Conduct structured discovery conversations to understand academic goals, curriculum requirements and learning challenges.
- Build strong relationships with families through professional and empathetic communication.
- Provide guidance on suitable tutoring programs based on individual student needs.
Academic Needs Analysis
- Understand student requirements across IB, IGCSE, AP, SAT, ACT and other international curricula.
- Assess academic strengths, challenges and learning objectives through detailed consultations.
- Recommend personalized tutoring solutions aligned with the student's goals.
Admissions & Enrolment Management
- Manage the complete admissions lifecycle from initial inquiry through successful enrolment.
- Schedule and coordinate consultations, counselling sessions and trial classes.
- Present CME's academic solutions, teaching methodology and value proposition with confidence and clarity.
- Guide families through program selection, pricing discussions and enrolment decisions.
- Consistently achieve enrolment objectives and counselling goals.
Relationship Management
- Maintain regular communication with prospective families throughout the decision-making journey.
- Deliver a responsive, professional and high-quality customer experience at every stage.
- Build trust and confidence in the Connect My Expert brand.
CRM & Process Excellence
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all interactions within the CRM platform.
- Track lead progress, follow-ups and enrolment status effectively.
- Ensure timely updates and adherence to established counselling and admissions processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Academic, Operations and Customer Success teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
- Share customer insights and market feedback to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence, collaboration and student success.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of experience is mandatory in Academic Counselling, Education Sales, EdTech Sales, Admissions Counselling, Inside Sales or Consultative B2C Sales.
- Proven track record of achieving enrolment, admissions or performance targets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to confidently engage with parents and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms and virtual communication tools such as Zoom and Google Meet.
- Ability to adapt to business requirements and international client schedules,
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with international students or parents.
- Familiarity with IB, IGCSE, AP, SAT, ACT or other international curricula.
- Exposure to premium education services, overseas education consulting or academic advisory environments.
