About the Role
Roshan Cafe is looking for a passionate, hardworking, and responsible Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, hygiene, and maintaining consistent taste and quality.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works well under pressure, and can maintain high standards during busy cafe hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to Roshan Cafe's recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, portion size, and quality.
- Handle food preparation, cooking, plating, and kitchen operations efficiently.
- Ensure proper hygiene, cleanliness, and food-safety practices at all times.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
- Maintain proper stock levels and inform management about shortages or wastage.
- Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
- Keep the kitchen, equipment, utensils, and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow proper storage and temperature-control procedures for food.
- Coordinate with cafe staff to ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time.
- Manage multiple orders efficiently during busy periods.
- Assist in creating or improving dishes and menu items when required.
- Follow portion-control and costing standards set by the cafe.
- Report any equipment, ingredient, or kitchen-related issues to management.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a cafe, restaurant, or similar food-service environment is preferred.
- Good knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation.
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality.
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Punctual, disciplined, and reliable.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the cafe's menu and procedures.
