CNC Operator – Job Description
Position: CNC Operator
Department: Production / Manufacturing
Location: Mudichur, Tambaram
Job Summary
The CNC Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision metal or plastic components according to engineering drawings and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines (Turning / Milling / Drilling) as per job requirements.
- Read and understand engineering drawings and instructions.
- Load raw materials, tools, and fixtures correctly.
- Set basic machine parameters, tool offsets, and speeds/feeds.
- Monitor machining operations and adjust settings for accuracy.
- Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments like Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, etc.
- Maintain production records and daily job sheets.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning.
- Identify and report tool wear, breakage, and machine issues.
- Follow safety rules and maintain a clean work environment.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of CNC machine operation.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Experience with measuring tools (Vernier, Micrometer).
- Understanding of machining processes.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a production environment.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Fitter, Turner, Machinist, or relevant field.
- 0–2 years of experience (Freshers with training can apply).
- Knowledge of G-Code / M-Code is added advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
