Qualification
- ITI in Cutting & Tailoring / Fashion Technology or equivalent.
- Diploma/Degree in Fashion Technology is preferred.
- Relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
Job Summary
The Garment Creation Master is responsible for transforming design concepts into well-constructed garment prototypes. The role involves interpreting design sketches, collaborating with designers and pattern masters, developing innovative garment constructions, and ensuring every style is aesthetically appealing, technically feasible, and ready for bulk production.
Key Responsibilities
Garment Development
- Develop new garment styles based on designer sketches, reference images, and concept discussions.
- Create first prototypes and development samples with high construction accuracy.
- Recommend suitable construction techniques to achieve the desired fit and appearance.
- Ensure garments meet brand quality standards and are production-ready.
Design Interpretation
- Understand design concepts, fashion trends, silhouettes, and garment styling.
- Translate fashion illustrations into finished garments while maintaining design intent.
- Suggest technical improvements without compromising aesthetics.
Pattern & Fit Coordination
- Coordinate with Pattern Masters for pattern development and corrections.
- Conduct fit trials and recommend construction or pattern modifications.
- Resolve fitting and stitching issues during product development.
Garment Construction
- Construct a wide range of women's western wear including:
- Dresses
- Tops & Shirts
- Co-ord Sets
- Trousers & Pants
- Skirts
- Jumpsuits
- Jackets
- Blazers
- Apply advanced sewing techniques for premium garment finishing.
Production Feasibility
- Evaluate designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Suggest alternative construction methods to improve production efficiency.
- Ensure developed garments can be replicated consistently in bulk production.
Fabric & Trim Handling
- Work with woven, knitted, denim, rayon, cotton, linen, viscose, polyester, satin, chiffon, georgette, and blended fabrics.
- Recommend appropriate trims, accessories, and finishing techniques for each style.
Machine Operation
- Operate industrial sewing machines including Lockstitch, Overlock, Flatlock, Feed-off-the-Arm, Buttonhole, Button Stitch, Bartack, and other specialized machines.
- Guide operators on appropriate machine settings and stitching methods.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure garments meet approved measurements and quality standards.
- Maintain high standards of stitching, symmetry, finishing, and overall presentation.
- Minimize alterations through accurate first-time development.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Fashion Designers, Merchandisers, Pattern Masters, Sampling, Cutting, and Production teams.
- Mentor junior sample tailors and garment technicians.
- Support pilot production and style handover to the production team.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in women's western wear garment construction.
- Excellent knowledge of garment fit, draping, and finishing.
- Ability to interpret fashion sketches and technical specifications.
- Thorough understanding of sewing operations and industrial machinery.
- Strong problem-solving and product development skills.

- Ability to work under tight development timelines.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in export houses or women's fashion manufacturing units.
- Exposure to international fashion brands and buyer requirements.
- Knowledge of garment costing, SMV, and production processes.
- Understanding of current fashion trends and innovative garment construction.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
