Job Summary
The Balling Disc Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the balling disc system in the pellet plant to produce green pellets as per required size, quality, and production targets. The operator ensures smooth operation of equipment, maintains process parameters, and follows all safety procedures during plant operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor balling disc equipment during production.
- Maintain proper feed rate, moisture level, and disc angle for quality green pellet formation.
- Ensure pellet size and quality are maintained as per production standards.
- Check and control raw material flow from bins and conveyors.
- Monitor process parameters and report abnormalities to the supervisor.
- Coordinate with control room operators and other production teams for smooth plant operation.
- Carry out routine inspection of disc, scraper, spray nozzles, bearings, and lubrication systems.
- Maintain housekeeping around the working area.
- Follow safety standards, PPE requirements, and company procedures.
- Assist maintenance team during breakdown and shutdown activities.
- Record production data and shift reports accurately.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of pellet plant process and balling disc operation.
- Basic understanding of green pellet formation and moisture control.
- Ability to identify operational issues and take corrective action.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Awareness of industrial safety practices.
Educational Qualification
- ITI / Diploma / 12th Pass preferred.
- Technical qualification in Mechanical or Production field is an advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Pellet Plant / Steel Industry preferred.
- Experience in balling disc or pelletizing operation will be preferred.
Working Conditions
- Rotational shift duty.
- Working in hot and dusty industrial environment.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
