Junior Design Engineer-Trainee
Project Execution
Study project specifications along with timelines, architectural, structural, and RCC plans to understand design requirements.
Develop designs in alignment to project specification and as per necessary compliances for all stages
Prepare the Design Basis Report (DBR) to document design methodology, assumptions, and system parameters.
Conduct initial space planning ensuring optimal layout for key components such as substation, water tanks, pump rooms etc
Generate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on the finalized design
Prepare tender documents, including design specifications, BOQs, and technical requirements for contractor bidding.
Check and approve drawings at various project stages (concept, tender, GFC, as-built).
Work closely with the drafting team to incorporate design changes in the drawings
Participate in review meetings and provide updates on design progress, changes, and any challenges impacting execution.
Quality Compliance & Documentation
Update the progress status in the CRM checklist, ensuring real-time tracking of milestones and adherence to planned schedules.
Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance in all documentation and design processes.
Assist the Senior Engineer in ensuring the proper execution of designs at the site, maintaining quality standards and compliance. Witness testing and commissioning whenever required
Junior Design Engineer – MEP (Electrical / HVAC / PHE-FF)
Role Purpose
The Junior Design Engineer supports the design development, documentation, and execution of MEP systems across Electrical, HVAC, and PHE–Fire Fighting services, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, and quality standards under the guidance of senior team members.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Execution & Design Support
- Study project specifications, timelines, architectural, structural, and RCC drawings to understand design requirements.
- Develop MEP designs in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes for various project stages.
- Assist in preparing the Design Basis Report (DBR), documenting design methodology, assumptions, and system parameters.
- Carry out initial space planning for key services and equipment such as substations, pump rooms, water tanks, and service areas.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on finalized and approved designs.
- Assist in preparing tender documents including technical specifications, BOQs, and contractor scope requirements.
- Check and assist in the review of drawings at different stages such as Concept, Tender, GFC, and As-Built.
- Coordinate closely with the drafting team to ensure design changes are correctly incorporated in drawings.
- Participate in design review meetings and provide updates on progress, revisions, and execution-related challenges.
2. Quality, Compliance & Documentation
- Update project progress and milestone status in the CRM checklist to enable real-time monitoring.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency, accuracy, and compliance in all design and documentation activities.
- Assist Senior Design Engineers in ensuring correct implementation of designs at site in line with approved drawings and specifications.
- Support testing and commissioning activities and witness tests whenever required to ensure systems function as per design intent.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil Engineering (relevant to MEP discipline).
- 0–3 years of experience in MEP design or consultancy environment.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD; exposure to MEP design standards and codes preferred.
- Good coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
