The Store Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the supermarket, ensuring sales growth, excellent customer service, efficient inventory management, staff supervision, and profitability of the store.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store Operations
- Manage day-to-day supermarket operations.
- Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and proper product display.
- Monitor opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
2. Sales & Profitability
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Monitor sales performance and implement improvement strategies.
- Increase customer footfall and average bill value.
- Control operational expenses and minimize losses.
3. Inventory Management
- Maintain optimum stock levels.
- Monitor stock movement and reorder products as required.
- Reduce wastage, expiry, damage, and shrinkage.
- Conduct regular stock audits and physical inventory counts.
4. Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise store employees.
- Prepare staff schedules and duty rosters.
- Monitor employee performance and productivity.
- Maintain discipline and workplace morale.
5. Customer Service
- Ensure excellent customer experience.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain high service standards throughout the store.
6. Vendor & Purchase Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers and purchase department.
- Negotiate prices, schemes, and promotional offers.
- Ensure timely receipt of goods and invoice verification.
7. Reporting & Administration
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Monitor cash handling and billing operations.
- Analyze sales, margins, and inventory reports.
- Submit reports to management.
Qualifications
- Any Bachelor's degree
- 3–10 years of experience in supermarket, retail, or hypermarket operations.
- Experience in inventory management and team leadership.
