Key Responsibilities -Intra-Operative (Scrub & Circulating) Duties
- Surgical Assistance: Function as a scrub nurse to pass specialized microsurgical instruments, sutures, and viscoelastic devices to the ophthalmologist.
- Equipment Management: Operate and monitor complex eye care machinery, including Phacoemulsification units, surgical microscopes, and ophthalmic laser systems.
- Maintain Sterility: Enforce strict aseptic techniques and micro-infection control protocols tailored for intraocular safety.
- Patient Monitoring: Monitor vital signs and ensure stable patient positioning under the surgical microscope
- Wound & Eye Protection: Apply post-surgical antibiotic ointment, sterile eye dressings, and protective eye shields safely.
- Recovery Monitoring: Escort patients to the recovery area and monitor them for immediate post-sedation or post-operative issues.
- Discharge Education: Instruct patients and family members on proper eye drop application techniques, hygiene rules, and warning signs.Sterilization & Maintenance
- Autoclaving: Sort, clean, wrap, and run sterilization cycles (autoclave/EO gas) for delicate ophthalmic micro-instruments.
- Inventory Control: Track and restock essential OT supplies, including viscosurgical devices, balance salt solutions (BSS), blades, and sutures.
- Waste Management: Dispose of medical waste and sharps according to biomedical waste disposal safety standards
- OT Setup: Clean, sterilize, and set up the ophthalmic surgical trolley, microsurgery instruments, and disposable consumables
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
