Profile Summary
The Business Development Analyst drives the company's growth engine within the AEC and engineering services sector by systematically identifying, analyzing, and qualifying global business opportunities. This role leverages business intelligence platforms, tender portals (including US federal procurement sites), and market research to build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of actionable leads. Working closely with the BD team, the Analyst conducts in-depth opportunity assessments, interprets commercial agreements and contractual terms,and delivers data-backed insights to support strategic decision-making and risk mitigation. Additionally, the Analyst performs comprehensive analytics on historical data to identify trends, patterns, and performance metrics, while evaluating future project possibilities and emerging leads to inform proactive business planning and growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct proactive research, analysis, and reporting to maintain a robust pipeline of
- potential leads.
- Navigate various platforms and databases to extract meaningful insights and
- actionable opportunities.
- Review, interpret, and analyze commercial agreements, terms and conditions, and
- other contractual documents to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Perform comprehensive analytics on historical bid data, win/loss ratios, and
- conversion metrics to identify trends and inform strategic planning.
- Evaluate future project possibilities and emerging market opportunities to support
- proactive business development initiatives.
- Prepare detailed opportunity assessment reports, including market sizing, competitor
- analysis, and risk profiles for senior leadership review.
- Collaborate with proposal and technical teams to provide market intelligence and
- opportunity context during the bidding process.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities across key
- geographies to identify shifts in market dynamics.
- Maintain and update CRM systems with accurate opportunity data, pipeline status,
- and activity tracking to ensure data integrity.
- Assist in preparing market entry strategies for new geographies or service verticals
- based on research findings and demand analysis.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to lead generation,
- pipeline health, and conversion rates.
- Identify new opportunities globally through business intelligence platforms, tender
- websites (including US federal tender sites), and other relevant sources.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or any related field.
- 2–4 years of proven experience in business intelligence, lead generation, and tender
- analysis.
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to identify viable opportunities
- from complex data sources.
- Excellent comprehension of commercial agreements, terms and conditions, and
- contractual documents.
- Familiarity with global business development practices, market trends, and
- international procurement processes.
- International exposure with a proven ability to work across diverse markets and
- geographies.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of the AEC industry, including BIM/CAD services,
- is an added advantage.
- Good communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate insights
- clearly to stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and coordination abilities to support cross-functional
- collaboration with BD and engineering teams.
- Proficiency in business intelligence platforms, tender portals, CRM systems,
- Analytics Application, and MS Office (especially Excel for data analysis).
- Willingness to learn and grow in business development, with a proactive mindset and
- curiosity for market dynamics.
- Ability to work independently and handle team coordination in a fast-paced, target driven environment.
- Experience in documentation handling, including NDAs, contracts, agreements, and
- other commercial documents.
