Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to manage and oversee the complete Human Resources function for our textile manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in factory HR, manpower management, recruitment, employee relations, statutory compliance, payroll coordination, performance management, and labour-related matters.
The candidate should be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and managing both workmen and staff.
Key Responsibilities1. Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Plan and manage manpower requirements for production and support functions.
- Handle recruitment, selection, onboarding, and induction of employees.
- Develop effective sources for recruiting skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workforce.
- Maintain manpower records and monitor absenteeism, turnover, and manpower productivity.
2. Factory HR & Employee Relations
- Manage day-to-day HR activities at the textile manufacturing unit.
- Maintain positive employee relations and address employee grievances.
- Handle disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies and applicable labour laws.
- Coordinate with production and other department heads on workforce-related issues.
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.
3. Labour Law & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Manage statutory registers, records, licences, notices, and documentation.
- Coordinate PF, ESI, Bonus, Gratuity, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare and other applicable compliances.
- Coordinate labour inspections, audits, and statutory submissions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable factory and employment regulations.
4. Payroll & Attendance
- Supervise attendance, leave, overtime, shift, and wage-related processes.
- Coordinate monthly payroll processing and ensure accuracy.
- Monitor contract labour attendance, wages, documentation, and compliance.
- Resolve payroll and attendance-related employee queries.
5. Performance & Employee Development
- Implement and monitor performance appraisal processes.
- Identify training and development requirements.
- Coordinate skill development, employee training, and induction programmes.
- Support career development and succession planning initiatives.
6. HR Policies & Administration
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate employee personnel records and HR documentation.
- Prepare HR MIS reports covering manpower, absenteeism, attrition, overtime, recruitment, and other key metrics.
- Handle employee welfare activities, facilities, and engagement programmes.
7. Coordination & Leadership
- Work closely with Production, Administration, Finance, and other functional teams.
- Guide and supervise the HR/Administration team.
- Provide management with HR insights and recommendations.
- Drive HR initiatives aligned with business and production requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Good understanding of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Experience in textile, garment, spinning, weaving, processing, or related manufacturing industries preferred.
- Strong manpower planning and workforce management skills.
- Excellent employee relations and grievance-handling abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle a large workforce and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRMS/payroll systems.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years of HR experience, with strong experience in the textile, fashion, apparel, retail, or related industry.
- Experience managing HR operations across multiple retail shops/outlets is highly preferred.
- Strong experience in manpower planning, recruitment, employee relations, attendance, payroll coordination, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Strong ability to handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, absenteeism, attrition, and staff retention.
- Should be capable of working closely with shop managers, department heads, management, and other functional teams.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in handling retail staff, sales teams, supervisors, and support staff will be an added advantage.
