Job Description – Lab Assistant
Position Title: Lab Assistant (Science & Math Lab)
Reporting To: Principal
Role Summary:
The Lab Assistant will be responsible for supporting the smooth functioning of school laboratories by preparing, organizing, and maintaining laboratory materials, equipment, and resources. The role ensures a safe, clean, and efficient environment for students and teachers during practical sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare laboratory materials, apparatus, and chemicals in advance for practical classes.
- Assist teachers and students during lab sessions.
- Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed.
- Maintain records of lab equipment, stock registers, consumables, and chemicals.
- Regularly clean and calibrate lab instruments for proper functioning.
- Safely store, handle, and dispose of chemicals and lab waste.
- Provide technical support for setting up experiments and demonstrations.
- Coordinate with teachers to understand upcoming practical requirements.
- Ensure proper upkeep and cleanliness of the laboratory.
- Report damages, repairs, or shortages to the Lab In-charge/Principal.
Skills & Competencies Required:
- Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment handling.
- Understanding of laboratory safety and hygiene.
- Organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to support students patiently during lab activities.
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum: Diploma / Degree in Science or relevant field.
- Preferred: Prior experience as a Lab Assistant in an educational institution.
- Fresher with strong subject knowledge may also be considered.
Work Environment:
- Based in school campus laboratories.
- Requires handling of lab equipment, chemicals, and consumables.
- Active engagement with teachers and students.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
