Designs details drawings, sketches and profiles that are used in planning and construction of Company new
build/rebuild projects; ensures compliance with Company policies and procedures
Responsibilities:
- Utilizes computer aided drafting (CAD) equipment and skills to perform drafting activities under senior personnel
- Traces, transfers, and translates existing drawings to be used for revised work drawings
- Creates new drawings for new build projects
- Creates preliminary design drawings that adhere to established design guidelines
- Creates working construction drawing sets for site and building related projects and adheres to established design
guidelines; drawings include detailed grading, utility, site plans and technical building sets for permitting and
construction
- Reviews drawings/CAD files prepared by consultants for accuracy and adherence to established design standards
- Maintains CAD files and libraries and ensures drafting supplies and equipment are available for department use
- Reads and interprets technical drawings, surveys, and property legal descriptions
- Determines impact on existing facilities, right-of-ways, and easements by combining proposed drawings and
existing facility drawings
- Visits field locations to obtain measurements for preliminary sketches of installations and facilities, as needed
- Obtains and interprets zoning and permit information for construction drawings
- Assists internal departments with drafting related projects, as assigned by Supervisor
- Obtains information on construction materials for specific plans
- Completes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by Management
Education Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Drafting and Design or equivalent education and experience.
