A Commis Chef is an entry-level position in a professional kitchen, responsible for assisting senior chefs in food preparation, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and learning basic cooking techniques. This role is ideal for someone starting their career in the culinary field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes under supervision
- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
- Follow recipes and instructions from senior chefs
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are followed
- Store ingredients properly and manage stock rotation (FIFO)
- Help with plating and presentation of dishes
- Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Support other kitchen staff during busy hours
Skills & Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Physical stamina (long hours, standing, lifting)
- Culinary diploma or training (preferred but not always required)
Experience:
- 0–2 years of kitchen experience (internship or training acceptable)
Location - Western Line
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
