Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis I – Bakery & Confectionery to join our culinary team at our Central Kitchen Commissary. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing a wide range of bakery and confectionery products while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, desserts, and other bakery products.
- Assist in the production and decoration of confectionery items according to standard recipes.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and product quality.
- Monitor baking times, temperatures, and ingredient measurements for optimal results.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bakery work area and equipment.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients and finished products.
- Assist in inventory control and report stock shortages to the Chef.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards at all times.
- Minimize wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
- Support senior chefs in daily bakery production and special orders.
Requirements
- Minimum2–3 years of experience in a bakery and confectionery kitchen.
- Local Candidates prefered
- Knowledge of bread making, pastries, cakes, desserts, and confectionery production.
- Familiarity with bakery equipment and baking techniques.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Good teamwork, discipline, and willingness to learn.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
