Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Service Manager to lead service operations for diesel engines and DG sets. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise, proven leadership skills, and the ability to manage customer relationships while ensuring efficient service delivery. Candidates with prior experience in the diesel engine, DG set, generator, heavy equipment, or industrial service industry are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day service operations for diesel engines and DG sets.
- Handle customer complaints and ensure timely resolution of service issues.
- Plan, allocate, and monitor manpower for installations, preventive maintenance, and breakdown services.
- Supervise and guide service engineers and technicians to achieve operational excellence.
- Coordinate with sales, stores, production, and dispatch teams for smooth service execution.
- Maintain service records, warranty documentation, MIS reports, and other operational documents.
- Monitor service KPIs, response time, turnaround time (TAT), and customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support service business growth.
- Promote Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), spare parts sales, and other service-related business opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, DG sets, and related equipment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong customer relationship and communication abilities.
- Good planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially MS Excel and email communication).
Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Automobile Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in service operations.
- Mandatory experience in the diesel engine, DG set, generator, heavy equipment, construction equipment, or industrial service industry.
- Prior experience in leading service teams and managing customer service operations will be an added advantage.
