Key Responsibilities
- Operate surface grinding, bench grinding, and hand grinding machines.
- Perform grinding, deburring, polishing, and finishing of metal components.
- Inspect components for weld defects, surface damage, and dimensional issues.
- Carry out welding rework and repair activities using appropriate welding methods.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ensure proper alignment, surface finish, and tolerance levels.
- Maintain grinding wheels, welding tools, and shop equipment.
- Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate with quality and production teams to meet delivery schedules.
- Record production and rework activities as required.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of grinding and welding processes.
- Ability to use measuring instruments and inspection tools.
- Basic understanding of fabrication drawings and symbols.
- Familiarity with MIG, TIG, or Arc welding.
- Attention to detail and quality focus.
- Ability to work in shifts and under production targets.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Fitter, Welder, Machinist, or related trade.
- 1–5 years of experience in machine shop or fabrication industry preferred.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing / machine shop environment.
- Standing for long hours and handling metal parts/tools.
- Use of PPE including gloves, helmet, goggles, and safety shoes.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in heavy engineering, automotive, fabrication, or precision machining industries.
- Knowledge of quality inspection and rework procedures.
