Experience: 1 to 2 Years (Preferably in CAPEX / Engineering / Procurement)
Job Purpose
To support CAPEX procurement activities for centralized kitchen projects by sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and procuring engineering equipment, machinery, and project-related materials as per approved specifications, timelines, and cost standards of The Akshaya Patra Foundation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in end-to-end procurement for capital equipment, kitchen machinery, fabrication works, electrical & mechanical components and other CAPEX items.
- Obtain technical specifications from engineering/project teams and prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQs).
- Identify suppliers, request quotations, conduct comparative analysis, and support vendor finalization.
- Assist in technical and commercial negotiations with vendors in liaison with the Purchase Manager.
- Ensure procurement within budget, quality standards, and required timelines.
- Follow up with vendors for order execution, inspection coordination, and on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with Engineering/Projects, Finance, and Stores for approvals, GRN, installation schedules, and documentation.
- Maintain purchase records, vendor database, AMC contracts, warranty details, and compliance documents.
- Ensure adherence to internal procurement policies, audit norms, and vendor evaluation processes.
- Support capex planning, cost-saving initiatives, and alternate vendor development.
Skills & Competencies Required
- Technical knowledge of mechanical or electrical equipment, industrial machines, and fabrication materials.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills for comparison and cost analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, SAP (preferred), or any procurement tools.
- Good communication, documentation, and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and operations teams.
- Ethical practices, integrity, and adherence to procurement norms.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to visit vendor sites, manufacturing units, and project locations as needed.
- Knowledge of CAPEX procurement for kitchens, food processing units, manufacturing plants, or engineering projects will be an added advantage.
