Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bar Supervisor to oversee daily bar operations and lead our bar team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bar operations, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for quality service. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient bar operations, maintaining beverage quality standards, managing inventory, and fostering a positive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage day-to-day bar operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Lead, train, mentor, and motivate bartenders and bar staff to maintain high performance and service standards.
- Ensure beverages are prepared and served consistently according to BLR Brewing Co.'s quality standards.
- Monitor bar inventory, stock levels, and beverage consumption to minimize wastage and ensure adequate supplies.
- Assist in inventory counts, stock ordering, and beverage cost control.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and liquor licensing regulations.
- Monitor opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS transactions.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with the restaurant and kitchen teams to ensure seamless service during peak hours.
- Prepare daily shift reports and communicate operational updates to management.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of the bar area.
- Support management in implementing promotions, seasonal beverage menus, and operational improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in bar operations, with at least 1 year of experience as a Bar Supervisor or in a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and premium beverage service.
- Experience in leading, training, and developing bar teams.
- Sound knowledge of inventory management, beverage costing, stock control, and wastage management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle guest feedback professionally.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment.
- Familiarity with POS systems and daily operational reporting.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a brewpub, premium restaurant, luxury bar, or hospitality brand.
- Knowledge of craft beer styles, brewing processes, and beer-food pairing will be an added advantage.
- Bartending or hospitality certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
