Job Summary
The OT Technician is responsible for assisting surgeons, nurses, and anesthetists during surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining operation theatre equipment, instruments, and sterile environments. The role ensures smooth functioning of the OT and supports patient safety and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare operation theatres before surgeries as per surgical requirements.
- Arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during procedures.
- Ensure proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments.
- Maintain cleanliness and infection control protocols inside OT.
- Check and ensure availability and functionality of OT equipment.
- Transfer patients safely to and from the operation theatre.
- Maintain OT records, inventory, and equipment logs.
- Dispose biomedical waste according to hospital protocols.
- Assist in emergency and trauma procedures when required.
- Coordinate with CSSD and other departments for smooth OT operations.
- Ensure compliance with hospital safety and quality standards.
Qualification
- Diploma / Degree in Operation Theatre Technology or relevant allied health science course.
- Certification in OT Technology preferred.
Experience
- Freshers or experienced candidates can apply.
- Experience in multi-specialty hospital OT will be an added advantage.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and OT procedures.
- Understanding of sterilization and infection control practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and emergency situations.
- Basic knowledge of OT equipment handling and maintenance.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
