ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Shift In-Charge for our manufacturing facility at Piravom, Ernakulam. You will supervise approximately 20 factory staff during your assigned shift — ensuring production targets are met, quality and safety standards are upheld, and the team performs at its best. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong supervisory skills, a calm and decisive approach, and a thorough understanding of food manufacturing operations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Prepare shift schedules, allocate tasks, and brief the team at the start of each shift
- Supervise approximately 20 factory staff — monitoring performance, productivity, and discipline
- Track production output against targets and resolve bottlenecks or delays during the shift
- Ensure GMP, food safety, and hygiene standards are strictly followed throughout the shift
- Coordinate with QC for in-process quality checks and take corrective action when needed
- Maintain attendance records and manage shift handovers with incoming and outgoing teams
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organised factory floor at all times
- Submit a detailed shift report at the end of each shift and escalate issues to the Factory Manager
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Diploma, ITI, or Graduate in any discipline — Food Technology or Production Management preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Shift In-Charge or Supervisor in a factory or food manufacturing company
- Working knowledge of GMP, food safety standards, and factory floor operations
- Strong communication skill with fluency in Malayalam and basic English. Knowleddge of spoken Hindi will be an added advantage
- Strong people management skills — able to lead, motivate, and hold a team accountable
- Calm, decisive, and reliable under the pressure of shift operations
- Comfortable working rotational shifts including night shifts
