We are seeking an experienced Azure Synapse Engineer to design, develop, optimize, and maintain enterprise-scale data warehouse and analytics solutions on Azure Synapse Analytics. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in building high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines, implementing incremental data processing, optimizing Synapse dedicated SQL pools, and driving cost optimization initiatives through effective DWU right-sizing and workload management.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Azure Synapse Pipelines, Spark, SQL, and Azure Data Factory.
Implement incremental data processing using watermarking, Change Data Capture (CDC), Change Tracking, or timestamp-based mechanisms.
Develop and optimize Dedicated SQL Pool and Serverless SQL Pool solutions for large-scale data warehousing.
Perform DWU right-sizing based on workload patterns to balance performance and cost.
Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities, including workload scheduling, pause/resume automation, storage optimization, and query tuning.
Optimize SQL queries, partitioning strategies, indexing, and data distribution (Hash, Round Robin, Replicated tables) to improve performance.
Design and maintain dimensional data models (Star/Snowflake schemas) for reporting and analytics.
Monitor pipeline execution, troubleshoot failures, and ensure high availability and reliability.
Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for deployment automation.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and BI teams to deliver scalable analytics solutions.
Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance across the data platform.
Document technical designs, operational procedures, and best practices.

Job Requirement
Strong experience with Azure Synapse Analytics (Dedicated SQL Pool and Serverless SQL Pool).
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Synapse Pipelines.
Strong SQL development and performance tuning expertise.
Experience implementing incremental loading, CDC, watermark-based processing, and metadata-driven ETL frameworks.
Expertise in DWU sizing, workload management, and query performance optimization.
Experience with cost optimization strategies in Azure Synapse.
Knowledge of Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2).
Experience with Spark, PySpark, or Synapse Notebooks.
Understanding of dimensional modeling and enterprise data warehousing concepts.
Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD practices.
Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting Azure-based data platforms.
