We are seeking a skilled Civil Underground Designer with strong 3D modelling expertise to support the design and development of underground infrastructure projects. The role involves preparing detailed engineering drawings and models for utilities, drainage systems, pipelines, foundations, and subsurface structures using advanced design software.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in 3D modelling platforms (e.g., E3D, SP3D etc.) and a solid understanding of underground network coordination and construction practices.
- Develop 3D models and detailed design drawings for underground utilities such as CRWS, OWS, water supply, sewerage, stormwater drains, fire networks, and electrical trenches.
- Prepare civil underground layouts, profiles, cross-sections, and construction drawings.
- Perform clash detection and coordination with other disciplines (Piping, electrical, instrumentation, structural).
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design inputs to produce accurate models and drawings.
- Ensure compliance with project standards, codes, and client specifications.
- Maintain proper layering, naming conventions, and drawing standards.
- Support engineers in design development, revisions, and optimization.
- Generate quantity take-offs
- Participate in design reviews, model audits, and coordination meetings.
- Assist in resolving site-related design issues and RFIs.
- Strong proficiency in:
- AutoCAD / Civil 3D such as E3D, SP3D
- Experience in 3D underground utility modelling and coordination.
- Knowledge of:
- Underground utility systems (water, sewer, storm, electrical)
- Familiarity with clash detection tools (e.g., Navisworks).
- Good understanding of construction practices and sequencing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
