Role Purpose
The Dean – Allied & Healthcare Sciences shall provide academic, strategic, administrative, and operational leadership for the School of Allied & Healthcare Sciences. The incumbent will oversee academic excellence, curriculum development, research, regulatory compliance, faculty development, student outcomes, industry collaborations, and institutional growth while ensuring alignment with UGC, NCAHP, NEP, accreditation requirements, and university objectives.
Key Responsibilities1. Academic Leadership & Program Development
- Provide strategic leadership for all Allied & Healthcare Sciences programs including undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and research programs.
- Lead curriculum planning, revision, and implementation in line with competency-based and outcome-based education models.
- Ensure academic quality, learning outcomes, and continuous improvement.
- Introduce new academic programs aligned with healthcare industry needs and emerging disciplines.
- Supervise academic planning, timetables, assessments, examinations, and academic delivery.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation
- Ensure compliance with UGC, NCAHP, NEP, statutory councils, and accreditation requirements.
- Lead NAAC, NBA, NIRF and other quality initiatives.
- Coordinate inspections, audits, documentation, and regulatory approvals.
- Ensure maintenance of academic records and policy implementation.
3. Faculty Management & Development
- Lead recruitment, induction, mentoring, evaluation, and retention of faculty.
- Conduct performance reviews and establish KPIs for departments.
- Promote FDPs, workshops, conferences, and professional development initiatives.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and research culture among faculty.
4. Research & Innovation
- Promote research, publications, patents, funded projects, and consultancy.
- Facilitate collaborations with healthcare institutions, industries, and research bodies.
- Encourage grant proposals and externally funded projects.
- Strengthen innovation and translational healthcare research initiatives.
5. Student Affairs & Academic Excellence
- Ensure student success, retention, progression, and placement outcomes.
- Oversee internships, clinical postings, industry exposure, and placements.
- Address student concerns, grievances, and academic matters.
- Promote student engagement, professional ethics, and skill enhancement programs.
6. Industry & Clinical Collaborations
- Develop partnerships with hospitals, healthcare institutions, industries, and professional bodies.
- Establish MoUs for internships, training, placements, and collaborative research.
- Promote community outreach and healthcare initiatives.
- Strengthen industry integration and employability initiatives.
7. Administration & Financial Management
- Prepare annual academic plans, budgets, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure effective utilization of resources and infrastructure.
- Monitor departmental performance and institutional targets.
- Submit reports to university leadership and participate in governing bodies/committees.
Eligibility Criteria
- Ph.D. in Allied Health Sciences / Healthcare Sciences / Medical Sciences / Physiotherapy / Public Health / relevant discipline.
- Master’s Degree in relevant specialization.
- Minimum 15 years experience in teaching / research / healthcare industry.
- Minimum 5 years leadership experience as Dean / Principal / Director / Professor / HOD.
- Strong publication record with Scopus / UGC Care journals.
- Experience in accreditation, regulatory compliance, and institutional development preferred.
