Job Summary
The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records, accounting transactions, taxation, payroll, vendor payments, project costing, and statutory compliance of the construction company. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, and compliance with government regulations while supporting project execution through proper financial control.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Accounting
- Maintain books of accounts in accounting software (Tally ERP/Tally Prime, Busy, Zoho Books, etc.).
- Record all receipts, payments, journal entries, and bank transactions.
- Prepare monthly Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account, and Balance Sheet.
- Project Accounting
- Maintain project-wise income and expenditure records.
- Track project costs against BOQ and budget.
- Prepare project profitability reports.
- Accounts Payable
- Process supplier and subcontractor bills.
- Verify invoices with purchase orders and work completion certificates.
- Schedule timely payments.
- Accounts Receivable
- Prepare customer invoices and RA Bills.
- Follow up on outstanding payments.
- Maintain client ledger accounts.
- GST & Tax Compliance
- Prepare and file GST Returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, Annual Return).
- Reconcile GST Input Tax Credit.
- Deduct and deposit TDS.
- Maintain tax records and statutory registers.
- Payroll Management
- Prepare salary sheets for office and site employees.
- Calculate wages, overtime, EPF, ESIC, and labour deductions.
- Maintain attendance and payroll records.
- Bank & Cash Management
- Prepare daily cash book.
- Perform bank reconciliation statements.
- Monitor cash flow and fund requirements.
- Tender & Contract Support
- Prepare financial documents required for government tenders.
- Maintain EMD, ISD, Security Deposit, BG, and Performance Guarantee records.
- Assist in preparation of turnover certificates and financial statements.
- Inventory & Asset Accounting
- Maintain records of construction materials and fixed assets.
- Reconcile material purchases with store records.
- Monitor depreciation schedules.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain statutory registers and financial records.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and government departments.
- Ensure compliance with Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST Act, EPF, ESIC, Labour Laws, and other applicable regulations.
- Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Submit MIS reports to management.
- Provide project-wise expenditure analysis.
- Audit Support
- Assist internal and statutory auditors.
- Maintain proper vouchers and supporting documents.
- Resolve audit observations.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
