Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Earthwork & Survey Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in railway infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for conducting topographical surveys, alignment surveys, setting out works, quantity calculations, earthwork execution, and monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and railway engineering requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesSurvey Activities
- Conduct topographical, route alignment, contour, and as-built surveys for railway projects.
- Perform setting out and layout of railway tracks, embankments, cuttings, bridges, culverts, stations, and associated structures.
- Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference stations.
- Verify coordinates, levels, and dimensions as per approved drawings.
- Prepare survey reports, field books, and survey documentation.
- Carry out periodic verification surveys during project execution.
Earthwork Management
- Supervise earthwork activities including excavation, embankment formation, filling, grading, and compaction works.
- Monitor earthwork quantities and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct field measurements and calculate cut-and-fill quantities.
- Ensure proper layer-wise compaction and quality control testing.
- Coordinate borrow area identification and material utilization.
- Monitor slope stability and drainage requirements during earthwork execution.
Quantity Estimation & Measurement
- Prepare quantity calculations for excavation, embankment, and filling works.
- Verify contractor measurements and billing quantities.
- Maintain daily progress records and measurement sheets.
- Support preparation of BOQs and project estimates.
