Key Responsibilities
- Set diamonds, precious, and semi-precious stones in rings, earrings, pendants, bangles, bracelets, and other jewellery pieces.
- Perform various stone-setting techniques such as:
- Prong Setting
- Bezel Setting
- Channel Setting
- Pavé Setting
- Micro Setting
- Flush/Gypsy Setting
- Bead Setting
- Ensure stones are securely fixed and aligned according to approved designs and quality standards.
- Inspect stones and settings for defects, damage, or loose fittings before and after setting.
- Work closely with CAD, Casting, Polishing, and Quality teams to achieve production targets.
- Handle jewellery pieces carefully to avoid scratches, damage, or stone loss.
- Use stone-setting tools and equipment efficiently and safely.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards as prescribed by the company.
- Report production issues, stone shortages, or quality concerns to supervisors.
- Follow company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of jewellery stone-setting techniques.
- Ability to handle delicate and high-value jewellery pieces.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of gemstone handling and identification.
- Ability to work with microscopes and precision tools.
- Good understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes.
- Ability to meet production deadlines without compromising quality.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma / Certificate in Jewellery Manufacturing (preferred).
- Relevant training in stone setting will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Junior Stone Setter: 1–3 years of experience.
- Senior Stone Setter: 4–8 years of experience in diamond and gemstone setting.
- Experience in export-oriented jewellery manufacturing preferred.
