Job Title: Senior Accounts Manager – Automobile IndustryRole Overview
The Senior Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting, managing budgets, and supporting strategic financial decisions within the automobile business. This role typically involves handling large transaction volumes, inventory accounting, and compliance with industry-specific financial practices.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Monitor cash flow, revenue, and profitability
- Ensure accurate bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance
- Present financial insights to senior leadership
2. Accounts Oversight
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes
- Manage dealer/vendor payments and collections
- Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies
- Oversee credit control for customers and dealers
3. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Track performance against budgets and analyze variances
- Support pricing strategies and cost optimization
4. Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations (GST, TDS, etc. in India)
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Maintain proper documentation and financial controls
5. Inventory & Cost Control (Automobile-Specific)
- Monitor vehicle and spare parts inventory valuation
- Track cost of goods sold (COGS)
- Work closely with sales and operations teams on stock movement
6. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the accounts team
- Improve processes and implement accounting systems/ERP
- Ensure deadlines and accuracy in reporting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred
- 5–10+ years of accounting experience (automobile industry preferred)
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and taxation
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Tally, Oracle, etc.)
- Financial analysis and reporting expertise
- Leadership and team management skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Preferred Experience
- Experience in automobile dealerships, OEMs, or auto component companies
- Understanding of vehicle financing, dealer margins, and inventory cycles
